KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA NO.3, COLABA

The Pot Pourri & Veggie painting competition was held on 4^th July 08. There was much excitement in air along with anxiety and doubts!, as this was the first time the students were exposed to this kind of creative activity.

A basket containing assorted waste materials was given to each group – the beads, shells, buttons, stones, twigs, dried leaves – adorned each basket. Very soon their young energetic fingers were at work and wonderful designs took shape. The entire activity helped the students to improve their decision making skills, creative thinking and appreciation of others point of view. All culminating in amazing collage work.

COOKING COMPETITION

On 18 July as a part of CCA activity we conducted two competitions during the CCA period “CHATORI CHAAT” competition for junior while the rest of the children were busy penning down their concern for their globe! Reason –‘global warming’, the essay writing competition was held in the classes also the student took part in creative writing.

The basement was busting with activities. It was very heartening to see boys taking part in cooking competition & showing their culinary skills. When asked by the judges they explained about the nutritive values of the ingredient used. Why they have blanched the spinach. Also cumin seeds are roasted for toppings as it helps & few tried their hand tomato designing by carving scissor. The judges were lucky to see & taste so many varieties of sandwitch & tangy chaat! Different kind of chutney, peanuts, corn, hung curd were used.

Enthusiasm we had maximum participants. It was a lovely cool morning the basement full with spread of healthy sumptuous, a nutritive & colorful mouth watering preparation.
